In 1957 Corvette Convertibles were still racing along at impressive speed. Entering races was a great way to gain exposure for the 1957 Corvette soft tops as in was in 1956.  Maybe it was all this racing around that lead to heavy duty brakes and suspension being added as an option in 1957.

To improve performance even more, a fully synchronized four-speed transmission was added as an option to the 1957. By this time the Corvette Convertible had developed such a following that Corvette News magazine was introduced to the public. Antique Corvette Convertibles are still news worthy to classic car enthusiasts who are avid collectors of this model.
